Hell0- Hello!!! Haven't posted in so long, it's barely a blog!! Good grief... Seems that life just has a way of taking over and grabbing you by the horns!! And that it has... We've been meandering our way through what I deem to have been a long hard winter. And I'm sooo glad it's almost over. I feel Spring coming soon, and just can't wait!! I mean- I really can't wait.....

My daughter Rachael, just turned 18!!! Yes- 18!!!! OMG..... I just can't belive it. As I sit and listen to her proposed plans upon graduation, about things she's like to do, like to have, the places she might like to see, etc., I am thrilled, happy, sad, scared, nervous- did I say scared?? And so many emotions.. I want the best that life has to offer for our girl. I want Rach to just have it all, but most importantly find happiness in everything she does- and yet--- the mom in me- wants to just keep her forever- here!! lol... I know as life brings to her such great things- that she and I will share them as we go- that John- ( hubby/dad) will be there and sharing as well, but already- I am feeling that "empty nest" syndrome... I just pray no matter what she stays close- so I can still watch her grow and blossom.... That's all we can wish for our children- right?

On another note, our family is still looking for a new home. The home we are renting just isn't working out the way we'd like it to. It's so hard to find "just the right place", when you are such free and creative spirits- and oh- yes- when you have animals!! Our hunting process has been a little slow- because well- we're not getting any younger- lol- and we as bad as moving is to begin with- we REALLY didn't want to do it in the middle of winter again... Good grief....

Also been swamped with website work, working on markeplace goods- advertising, marketing, and am now doing Zazzle more than ever.. I am highly addicted, having fun, making money- and am still able to be here- doing all sorts of things I love to do.. Stop by my zazzle shop if you get a chance...

Well- was out blog hopping on some of my favorite blogs- and thought perhaps I might just post myself!!! Hope you are all safe, warm, and snuggy- and that Spring breathes its warm fresh air into your hearts soon!!

Hello Hello!! Just wanted to pop in to share some pics- and wish warmest wishes to everyone!! We went and got our tree last Saturday- and just had a blast!! Got it up and decorated in one night- imagine that!! Last year- we had no Christmas- due to moving- but this year- we have a just wonderful- gorgeous little tree!! Lovin' It!!

And... I wanted to post some pics of 6 brandy dandy new "Snowy's" that I just finished... I'm in the middle of completing some Xmas orders- and welll- since I was making one for an order- I made 6... Five of them are going on Etsy and my website- either tonight or tomorrow!! And One - well- will be on his way to his new home by Friday!!

And here's a better pic- well not better- but brighter- so you can see all their cute little faces and goodies!!

Well- hope you enjoyed the pics- and I sure hope you are all warm and snuggy!! We've had som really really snarly cold icky weather here in Upstate NY.... Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... And boy is it a busy time of year!! I'm working on finishing up two more last of the year orders- and then I am taking some time to regroup and and spend time with my family!! We're going to get our tree on the 11th- and then I'm cutting loose!! Decorations will fly- branches will be spun about the house- and my electric bill is definitely going to go up!! Because I'm going to have white lights everywhere!! :) What can I say? Last year- we didn't have a Christmas so to speak- as we moved into our 'temporary" home right before xmas.. It was not fun!! This year- the stockings will be hung- the decorations will be merry- and oh- of course I have some serious baking to do!!

Will be back again soon with some Christmas Decor pictures, and maybe a few good recipes to share!! Some of my newest favorites!!

Now- Just How Cute Is This???

We just couldn't help ourselves... Have all of my Fall decorating goodies out- and some straw hats of course- Mini Size!! Purrrfect for putting on putty tats :) Couldn't believe she just let us stick her ears in that silly hat and take pictures.. Gotta love it....

And sooo- as I'm taking a break from working on orders, projects- and our newest website- I was going through my pics- and just had to share!!!

Sooo, Sooo Busy...

But most certainly enjoying the fall season... I know it's been awhile since I posted, but my goodness... We've been going full bore around the property, getting ready for the season changes, this one, and winter too!! Because we all know that they both come at you fast!!! We've been digging and re-doing drainage ditches- building sheds for our equipment and extra stuff that has to be under cover, and on and on... It never does end- those lists of things to do that is :)

I've also been super super busy working on my marketplace!! I decided to take the plunge- and install a very robust shopping cart system on my server- for the marketplace site in itself!! Just when you think you "Know Quite A Few Things"- Oh my!! This has been a learning experience in itself.. Mind boggling to say the least!! *smiles*.. But- I am getting it- and have almost completed our layout- and then I can Finally add all of our categories and products!! I'm excited!!!

And speaking of exciting!! Myself and 6 of my other artists on the marketplace- finally got together and are placing a homepage website directory ad in Country Marketplace!! One step of many to get us all going in a great new direction this year!! I can't wait to have our site featured, even if in a humble small space, in the pages of Sampler magazine!! A long time goal- now achieved.. So- look for us- all the way in the back *smiles* in the February/March 2011 issue!! YAY!!!

Well- for now- enjoy the rest of these fun filled fall decorating days!! Take time for food, family and friends- and a bit for yourself too!!

In Loving Memory of our "grampa-pa".... Our world was so much a better place with him in it, and now heaven will be blessed with him there. He left us in body today- at 8:00 p.m., peacefully. However, his spirit is always in each of us. From the time I arrived in this world- to the time he just passed, he was alway...s one of the Greatest parts of my life. Always there, always fun, always loving, and always the best!!!! Go make em laugh up there gramps!! We love you!!!!!

Cinnamon- Spice- And Everything Nice....

Can you believe it is almost Fall? It seems like it is sneaking closer and closer... I mean- It's almost August!! Holy Hanna!! And I am STILL working on orders from this past Christmas, and have yet to start on this years seasonal product lines. Where does time fly?

I just opened an Etsy shop, thought I'd give myself and my artists some more exposure.. I'm getting ready to open a Zazzle shop- to sell my original graphic designs on their products, I'm working on my patterns and sewing- to get those orders done- that are WAY overdue- and readying myself to work on the upcoming projects I've lined up for the new season- which is HERE... I'm working on things around the home front- which even after 6 months of living here- still just doesn't feel quite right yet. I'm working and playing with the horses, my family, and everything else I can possibly squeeze in, and well- I am just going non stop. BUT- I think I am so far behind- that I may be able to get ahead? For next year? Oh my goodness..... Where there is daylight- and endless night hours- there is HOPE!! * smiles *

Well- just thought I'd pop in and catch up with anyone who visits- or just talk to myself for a few more minutes today :) I'm on a mission- to catch up on some sleep tonight- so I can tackle the world with the new day!!! So- I bid you a good nights sleep- and a great start on your morning!!

I made this set quite some time ago- and have had many orders of late from digital designers- graphic lovers- digital and traditional scrappers, gift shop owners- and the list goes on!! Why??? Well- it's just a wonderful thing to have. There are so many tag templates in this collection- many shapes and sizes- and you can print them out to play with as is- or digitally alter them and then print!! I Use Them For Everything!!! They are that versatile. So- when I designed the set- I thought I'd start selling it as a template collection!! Why not make things easier for everyone else too?

Finally Done With This Room???

Welll- welcome to my new "Supply- Candle Making Room"... I've finally got it so it is sooo much better than before- and kinda cozy... I hung some inventory up on the walls, really organized each wall as best I could - ( for now ).... And I now have a new "space"... Whew!!

This room is small.. Tiny actually- only about 7 1/4 foot wide by oh- 18-19" long maybe. But- now that I have some of the chaos under control- YAY!!!!

Above- you walk into the room!! And on the left- in the corner you will see at the end- is my boxed up inventory- some of it- and some bins full of supplies- and bubble wrap and a few misc... Oh- and of course the vacuum has to hide in here. Then you see my huge beige cabinet!! It is FULL of candle making supplies- bath and body goodies- and oh so much more!! And more on top!! And then in the very left far corner against back wall- is an old black dresser- gutted with new shelves put in- and that holds tons of supplies- frames- goodies and some inventory!! Some finished and some not.

Above- a close up of my candle making counter... You'll see tons of fun stuff!! Love love making my candles- soaps- and lotions!!!

Another shot- above- of the wall just beside the candle making area- to the right.... I've hung some goodies and favorite odds and ends up - so I can just look- till they are either sold or used!!

Oh- here- above- is a close up of my "frames and pictures" corner... Some much needed supplies tucked in- as well as a box of soap - ready to package- and a tub of luxurious lotion- all ready to be sold!!

Ahhh- above here- is my "Paper and Emphemera" wall... With a few inventory items tucked in- and some tools hidden below!!! You name it- I have it- for papercrafting!! Books- Magazines- TONS of papers- etc... I have a bin of rubber stamping supplies over in the other corner!! Fun- Fun!!

And last but not least- the inventory supply corner I told ya's about.. Not much I can do to make this "purty"... But it's Sooooo much better than it all was before!!! I am thrilled!!

Well- for now- my little room has gotten a much needed overhaul- it's a lot cleaner- neater- and more decorated... I've got my dresser full of candles in there now- and I took that old big wooden cabinet and put it in our bedroom- and it looks great there!! Love it!!

And I'm still on the jazz.. In between work stuff of course... Isn't it amazing how our spaces evolve? Usually because we get "More" Stuff - but heh- it's all worth the fun!!

Part 2

Remember This Room? Starting in my bedroom- my candle storage- and then moving into the supply room??? Well- The Saga Continues.... I am FINALLY starting my supply room overhaul- turning my little 8 x 10 room into a creative space as well!! It will be primarily used for my candle bath and body making- but I am on a mission!!

Welcome- Finally-To My Unveiling For
Where Bloggers Create...
Part 1

My goodness- a long time coming- but I finally "got things together" enough to share with you!! My work place- my creative space- is really my entire home!! I guess it really always has been, and even at our old home- when I had two huge dedicated rooms for my home based gift shop, and my studio- I found myself knocking down more walls than were standing- just so I could be a part of the mainstream and flow of our everyday life. I then really looked around, at the old house- and now our new house, at which we've only been at for almost 6 months- and completely had the "epiphony" that YES- my "creative space" really is and always has been- our entire home.. God Blesss My Family!!

Soo- I'll be taking you on a small home tour- as our home is MUCH smaller than the last- and just share some of my creations- my treasures- my places to do "my stuff", and some really good hiding spots!! Always did like playing hide and seek- which sometimes it ends up being- when looking for supplies!! *Wink- Wink* And I'll even spare you the basement... We won't go there!! no- no... I have over 40 bins- and many many piles and boxes of "stuff"- just waiting for a new look on life. I think I have enough to keep me busy for at least 20 years??? Hmmmmm

A little more about me, if you are interested, is in my sidebar to the left- and also on my websites, which I hopefully have added where needed :)

Here we go: Our Work In Progress:Starting At The Captains Chair- Or- errrr- corner :)

This is where most of my creating takes place... I do tons of website and graphic work, as well as my sewing- sculpting, painting, paper crafting- whatever I wish to play with. My space is ever changing- ever evolving, depending on what my whim may be.

I just put up some more decorations- for the party of course- and well- been meaning to add these for quite some time!! This was my "push" to get things done!! I absolutely love the quotes- "Dream Big"- "Work Hard"- "Have Faith"
Sooo- I made some very oversized tags to hang above my shelf that is full of colorful jars of all sorts of really fun stuff... Fun embellishments- mixed mediums, stuff i've made etc. And of course- there are some fun Halloween creations popping out of an old drawer.

My hubby and I just put the little shelf work table up- right at my window!! I love love to work there now- so I can watch my horses graze- and just enjoy all that light. And on the bookshelf to the right- I have my ott lamp mounted- and then there are baskets and small canvas box bins that hold tons and tons of crafting supplies!!! You name it- I probably have it handy!!!

My "Roopy Dog"- aka my son- T-Bone... I think he was rather less than thrilled with the flash of the camera.. He hates lightning- and I think he thought that is what it was!! Looks so sad- doesn't he? Usually he's a camera ham- but we had a storm last night- so- no ham today!!!

Ahhhhh- another view of "my wall"... he he... This long hand made shelf- is not finished- tisk tisk.. My hubby and I built it for all of my fabrics- it was vertical- then we laid it down on it's side- as it just fit and looked better. Then I could put supplies and fun stuff on top- either treasures to keep and enjoy, or treasures to turn into new. What is missing? Well- the chicken wire covered hinged doors of course!! They are cut- and ready to put the wire on- but that is as far as that hubby of mine has gotten!!! Well- I still love it- and my fabrics are right where I like em.

As you can see- there is not a spot left in our home that is not filled with goodies!! This corner- is a never ending work in progress.. I just haven't gotten it "right". And it's pretty darn hard to hide a 75 pound commercial size laser printer!!! But- we make do... And next to that is my boxes- trunk boxes- full of paints and nested all over of course- more "treasures".... Some for sale- some inventory- some to keep- oh- there's just tons of treasures. I like to add everything i make, sell, collect and love throughout our entire home!!

I have my two shelf bookcase thing under the window- where it holds my sewing box, my iron, and my sewing machine- covered- and on top- my newly retired computer that I am cleaning out to sell... Tis on ebay now- but hubby keeps using it to check the weather... Goodness....

Another view of the top of the fabric shelf- just above here.. With my lighted tree... I love the white lights on my trees- and also burn my handmade candles each and every day and night. So warm and cozy!!

I love this view out my window- and my new table shelf to work on. Some of my patterns- must have office supplies, sketch books, inspirational magazines and pullouts- and papers!! My scanner tucked to the side!! Yup- most of what I need is here- usually :)

And here above- more Stuff!!!! No- I mean- Treasures!!!! My treasures may stay- they may be for sale on my sites- or they may just purely inspire- decorate or make me smile!!

Above is the "Living Room" part of my creative space... As I said- I lost two rooms when we moved here- but hey- I love being mainstream- and my family does too!!! All I have to do is join them on the couch- or turn from my chair- and I'm part of the goings on!! I love it!!

Oh- please do not look at the pile of shoes by the tv stand- or the "CLUTTER" on the end table to the left... Oh yes- there is a table under that lamp- but hey- I figure- if I've taken over most of - if not all of the house- then my poor hubby can at least have his end table and a corner for his "piles" How nice of me right ??? Ohh- okay- he does get to showcase some of his treasures too- above the couch on the shelves... Some antique steins- and of course a few of my treasures as well..

Another view- but showing our "table"... I love this spot to work too- on bigger projects- like- ohhh- sewing or candle making!! And that old buggy bench- is FULL of treasures.. Wood pieces mostly- and tiny boxes- and all sorts of really really kewl stuff to make all of my smaller projects and make-do's with!! Ohhh- Love it!!! And of course- when I clean up- there's room for everyone to sit and eat- have dinner- and have company over too!! We like it cozy!!

Thought I'd share some more treasures... Other than the dog food... That's Tbones treasures.... he he... I love old stuff- and you never know what I'll transform into something new!!

Now- you're probably thinking why in the world would this woman show us her fridge- and a shot of a crock in the stairway??? Well- more treasures of course.. Baskets galore- and I LOVE BOXES!!!! And again- some to keep- some to treasure- some to hide more supplies- and well- some might make it to kaniki's online too!! Not sure!!

Below- we enter the bedroom!! Now- please keep in mind- "TOTALLY UNFINISHED"... But- more and more treasures!! Boxes- bins, things to paint- things waiting to sell- things that I just love!! I can't help it!! And so goes- that my "creative space" is indeed my entire home!!

I wasn't going to show you this dresser- the dust- or baskets full of "Non Treasured" stuff- but I do have a few treasures on top- a tv for down time- and that dresser holds THOUSANDS of my candles!!! I have 22 fragrances in my handmade line of candles- and each drawer of FULL... Jars and votives- Plumb Full.. It's the only way I could find a solution to keep them easy to get to- and clean!! And ready for shipping!! Or burning??? Well- of course!! I'm my second biggest fan- I think!! Got to have my candles!!

Ohhhh- the above picture- in my supply room!! Love this room!! Right now it's a total mess- kind of... It's organized chaos at it's best!!! Holds my paper supplies- which I have tons and tons of- holds my candles that I am going to 're-batch", some misc. tools, books, magazines, bins full of wax, paper crafting, Soaps that are ready to package- handmade lotion ready for orders----

And- And- And----- Oh yes- frames- christmas making supplies- glass jars and lids- a cabinet FULL of candle making supplies- bath and body making supplies- THOUSANDS of votives and candles I no longer sell- but re-use for future projects ( nothing gets wasted)- like my infamous "candleshop" candles- which is a variety of whatever waxes are left when I make my huge batches!!

Oh- and Frames- and papers and wood plaques and oh my!!! And my awesome Rolling cart!! This thing holds all my most used candle making supplies for when I need them at candle making time. I roll the cart out to the table in our "living/work/eating" room- and away I go!! Nifty eh? Well- I think so!!

And of course- the corner- from floor to ceiling- with ALL of my boxed up ready to go inventory. Everything is "organized" so I can find it quick when ordered- and I don't need to dust!! It's clean and ready to go!! Unlike the old days- when I did have my gift shop open- and had to do displays each week- dust- clean- re-organize- and repeat!!! I do miss it because I loved the peeps that stopped in- but it's also very nice to have things "just ready" to sell and ship....

The pic above- and below show more treasures... A bin full of goodies- and our kitchen- which serves as the painting wash station- and also as a display for some of the things I collect- keep- and sell!! All of the above- also a work in progress- like me!!!

And my final reprieve for the day!! Back to the bedroom!! See those blank walls- and the shutters??? My next decorating project!! I mean- after all- I've only had 6 months to get this place together- work- take care of the house- the family- the home- and work!! I'm gaining!! Really!!!

For now- I'll bid you a blessing!! And we'll not travel to the upstairs!! That has become my daughters "loft" if you will.... And it too- small as it may be- serves many purposes as well... Shower and bathroom- hunting room- and my daughters "sacred" room!! Ahhh- we all have to have that space- right?

So Much Stuff

I am just putting a quick- pre-post here for those that may be interested... I am "de-stashing" as my friend Patty calls it- and so I will be posting pics here soon of some stuff that I'll be selling. I have tons but for now- a few things I am parting with are the following:

I have a ton of rubber stamps and stamping stuff- and emphemera- and all that jazz- that I just never get to use, so will be selling them out. Pics coming soon

I also have a TON of jewelry making supplies- lots and lots of goodies from the wire to beads- stones- misc. collected treasures to make mixed media jewelry from- you name it... Even embossed and enamled and simple plain handmade clay beads of All shapes and colors... Gorgous- but I just simply don't get to use them.

If anyone is interested- I'll be posting pics soon- here!! I get lost in the sections on ebay and etsy- so I imagine my items for sale would too- so thought i'd use my blog to put the word out!!

Our Memorial Day Weekend Was Great...

Not only did we get to go to my hubby's parents for an awesome cookout- get together on Sunday- but we trucked our horses to a friends- over the hill and through the woods- and the following morning- Memorial Day- we all gathered up- tons of us- rode to the parade in town- rode in the parade- then rode back for yet another fun picnic... We did this last year also- and had sooo much fun!!!

In the back- our friend Tommy- on a friends horse Cheyenne... My daughter Rachael is on our mighty little black steed Blacky- and I'm off to the right facing you- on my little hot rod- Jax.... What a ride!!

It was sooo hot too... My goodness.. I never burn- but got fried on my shoulder tops and face- as it was darn near 90 plus.. WHEW!!! So- after getting back- taking care of the horses and all that jazz- we pigged out on cool salads- fire company chicken- and I think I drank a gallon of water....

Butterfly Season....

We've had a plethora of butterfly's this season... Just amazing.. Everywhere I go- they swirl and flutter about- tiny little butterfly's- large one's that I guess got started earlier- and some just in between.. Simply amazing how Spring brings to life the simplest- yet most beautiful things....

Now..... If I had been a good girl lately- I'd be running around with my camera- but instead- I'm plundering through each day- busy as the busy bees- and just enjoying what nature brings to me....

On another note.... Working on updates to the marketplace- orders that still are in the que.... And staying busier than ever. So much to do- especially now with summer almost upon us...

I do!! And this little girl reminds me of me lately- working- cleaning- making things!! Of course- I have a few more "modern tools" to work with - but all the same- busy busy!!

Just Couldn't Wait To Post These Pics....

My Daughter's 2010 Junior Prom!!!

Three- Four Weeks- of shopping- primmping- propping and getting ready- and every second was 100% worth it.. Just look at these two!! Now- I may be completely and totally opinionated- but boy oh boy is my daughter just stunningly gorgous!!! I am just so proud!!! I even cried- as she got in his car- and they drove away for 14 hours of prom night fun!!! Me? Crying? YES!!! My little girl- all growing up!! Where does time go?

Anyway- our school does a lock down prom ( thank God )- and they go and sign in at 8 p.m.- do the whole prom thing- and then the after prom party is right there as well!!! They gave these kids everything- including a super fun and safe night- and then even took them all out for breakfast!!! Wow huh?? They had so much fun!!

Now- me- mom- stayed up alllllllll night long- fell asleep in my office chair for a couple hours- and then finally- when she got home at almost 7 a.m.- we talked for a few- and we both went and took about a 4 hour nap!! Whew!!! Sooo glad everything went well- they had a blast- and it was so memorable for all....

Everyone keeps asking me- how I got them to stand around for so many pics- as I took almost 20- and well- they were just having a blast with it.. All that special attention- and of course- me- emotionally silly!!! My little girl is growing up!!! I think that's just what hit home so hard... Ohhh- can't I just keep her forever???? I know- I know- not literally- locked up here at home- but at least I know she'll always be close to home and in my heart....

Well- on my way through this day- but wanted to stop in and share my pictures of the daughter I am so proud to be the mother of......

One Of My Favorite Pics

My daughter took this picture- she is quite the photographer... And as I was browsing through my pics this evening- I came upon this once again!! It's titled "Secret Garden" - by Rachael Moore... I did a little altering- giving it a border- but just look at this gorgeous garden someone in our nearby town made!! A Secret Garden indeed!! How gorgeous!!

Ramblings For Today:

Working On A New Project- For A Friend Of Mine

My friend Sherry has asked me for a little help- in publishing and illustrating her new e-book that she's composed- based on generations of history from her grammy.. It's going to be awesome- filled with some of Sherry's favorite tidbits from her Grammy's Recipe' book. Now- this isn't any other ordinary recipe book- rather a glimpse into her grammy's' history, with some recipe's- some remedies and some tidbits from the past... Once I get this done- it will be for sale- in e-book- pdf fashion both on my Just For Keeps Website- and on Sherry's website itself.. I can't wait to finish - so you too can take a glimpse into yester year... What a blast!!

Also working on a few website updates for clients- some work of my own- and all sorts of things around here. It's been just plain silly chilly around here- so mixing things up between outside and in!! Playing with the horses on my work "breaks"... And spending time with family as much as we can!! Boy time flies- so hold on to your safety helmets!! And don't blink!!

Our fruit trees are starting to blossom around here too- and the pond is covered in lily pads!! I have a bit more "tweaking" to do outside- but stay tuned for some more gorgeous pics from the homestead!! I have Plans!! :) Lots of beautiful plans!!! It's just wonderful- having all this beautiful space here to dwell upon!! Really- nature at it's finest!!

Well- not getting much done- but wanted to pop in... Been doing some research on Digital journalling etc., too- and i've come to the conclusion that I love doing my journalling both online and on paper- in the good ol' sketchbooks- so no need to make a decision- just enjoy it all!! More on that later too!!

Just wanted to pop in to wish each and every one of you moms out there a very Happy Mothers Day!! Hope it's enjoyable, relaxing- or whatever you wish it to be!!!

We are just going to relax a bit- watch movies- eat lots of yummy foods- and enjoy each other's company!! It's not often I just set down to relax and "hang out" , as I work, work, work... And you all know how life just grabs right ahold of you- swinging you through each day- to it's fullest... So- for me- a little "downtime- play time" with my most loved... My family!!

Feeling A Little Patriotic Today!!!

Don't have a clue- but am just loving these red white and blues... And some added patina's and grunge!! :) Felt like playing a little bit- All work and no play makes?? Oh- wait- my work is just like playing!! But wanted to play a little with yet a new blog layout.. Ohhh- if you've stopped by before- you know I'll change it- but for now- here we go!!

We've been getting some wonderful weather here- and have a little rain on the way- but I am so welcoming these warmer temps.. This is the first night in quite a while that we did not even light a fire... We'll see what the morrow brings :)

Moving on to my next website project- and doing orders- and working on even Christmas stuff... Oh My!!! Need to get more of my candle tapers and pillars done too!! Ohhh- where does the day go??? Just soooooo busy!!!

Hoping this finds all of you well, and enjoying the beginnings of spring and summer yet to come... I know we sure are!! I'll post some new pics soon!!! We've got whole bunches of fruit trees in the back yard- over by the pond- and the apple trees are full of gorgeous white blossoms!! Coming soon- on a sunny day near me:)

Creatively Stuck- Or Just Overwhelmed ???

I guess you could even call it a crossroads of sorts... Hmmmm- so much to do- and not sure which direction to take. Overloaded? Perhaps... Stuck? Not sure. At A crossroads?? I'm sure.... As the world comes alive around me, spring breathing new life into everything around me- I feel it- I see it- I am absorbing it. And yet- I stand still. This happens each year, at about the same time, and I'm starting to believe that it's not only a combination of these things, but a chance to re-charge- stand still for a moment and re-charge with the season.

So, my list continues- work stays steady- I am busy as busy can be, and yet get into these little "spells" if you will- where the world seems to pass me by- and I the casual observer. This used to bother me- and now- as I grow older- and hopefully wiser- I find that perhaps it is just what my body and soul need after such a long run of things!!! And with this "re-charge" - I soon will find my pace again, which is normally flat out- full bore- and again create and get things done as normal. If there is indeed a normal....

I hope you too are able to re-charge with the season. Perhaps you are not stuck either, and if you are, or feel overwhelmed... Take a good look and a long breathe- and come alive with everything around you. That's my plan...

What??? No Decorating For Easter??? OHH MY!!!!

I should be hiding my head in shame- cuz I'm guilty as charged!!! It snuck right up on me, in the middle of this thing we call life- and welllll- I just plumb never got to it!!! I am ashamed... I love bunny's and grasses and spring looking prims and delights. I love making them, decorating with them, and just having em all over- and yet- today- I am down to the wire- with plans of making foods and goodies for Easter Sunday- with my thoughts of decorating gone to where???

Well- I suppose that these wonderful things don't have to just be for Easter alone right??? I mean they do reflect Spring and Summer in their very essence of course. Soooo- I've decided to start a Spring and Summer transformation as I can. Perhaps some hay ( aka- prairie grass ) filled bowls and candles with some birds, nests, and bunny's and eggs here and there... Candles of course go with everything... And well- how about some birdhouses too??? I'm thinking that yes- this is what we'll be doing.

Ironically- I am also making Christmas items from this past season's orders still- and making all new items for this year as well.. I'm going to have quite the eclectic combo going on here.. Hmmmm- lets see... Candles, Santa's, Snowmen, Halloween Characters galore, and so much more- mixed or matched- and all over I am sure!! Hey- why not???? I love all of our holidays and delightful seasons- and I'm just as eclectic as my schedule.... * smiles*

And so it goes- I've felt the need to confess- while looking at everyone else's festive Easter and Spring decor- that I have not been a good little bunny, and missed out on all the pre- decorating fun. Or have I???? We'll see what our future brings!! So many plans- so little time. At least to sleep that is...

Enjoy the warm weather- the sunshine filled days- and all that surrounds you. And hey- go all out like me- and just spread everything you love all over!!! :)

Can't Believe It's Almost Easter...

But am excited for this none the less, as with Easter comes family gatherings, friends, and the onset of hopefully beautiful weather and much fun!! A new beginning to this Spring season, if you will.. I know my wishes are early for posting- but I also know how busy I get- so I don't want to miss out.. So- for those of you visiting that celebrate Easter, I wish you nothing less than Good Wishes!!

In case you didn't notice- I've added a third column to my blog!! I pretty much had to- as all of the blogs I visit were growing by the mile- so I wanted to put my blog roll over to the right- so all of us can keep up with some of the greatest folks out there... Please do visit as many as you can- but I warn you- it's an addiction!! I have spent this entire rainy day - online- visiting- getting to know more folks, and catching up with some I knew. What fun- and what inspiration. My head is full- and I haven't even touched half of them.. So- grab your coffee or tea and go out to blogland!! You'll get lost like I did- but it was so worth it today!!

I'll be poppin in as much as I can- as this season too gets underway!! I have so much to share. Things about the shop- the artists at my marketplace- my living and work space makeover- the weather- horses- and most importantly my family and friends. I'll be adding to here- freshening things up- and keeping up to date as much as time allows. But for the moment- this little chickie needs some sleep!!! Way past my hatching time... Almost the set of a brand new day :)

Ever Feel Like This???

Oh Holy Hanna!! Feeling like a monkey riding a bicycle... Going and going and going- and my feet - just barely reaching the peddles- are racing away!! Whew!! :) Just been so busy!! Working on orders- patterns- candles- and still the ongoing - never ending process of getting our new home- to be a home!! Tough downsizing- but I gotta say- am loving it all... Even with all the peddling...

I have my baskets and my rolling cart on their way to me- to make things more efficient in my little corner in our world... aka- my work space in our living space.... And I just finished putting up my daylight- so I can work much much better. Not sure if I am going to put the chicken wire doors up on my fabric cabinet or not- as it will be kind of a hastle- so I'll keep ya posted there- as soon as I figure it out.... And I have my fabrics and patterns and clays and everything- finally in reach- as well as my paints- brushes and goodies I needed to find- and need to get some work done... NEXT!!! Getting my orders done- and working ahead for the holidays!! That and tons and tons of webwork!!

We're getting lots and lots of rain- so this has grounded me inside for the most part- which is a good thing... I have gotten soooo much done... Hoping to be sewing by end of week- if not sooner!! Finally!!! YAY..... I have my space and my supplies and I can work work work- play play play!! Whoo Hoo!!!

Anywho- thought I'd pop back in... Will take pics of our space again soon... As soon as my storage stuff comes in!! All cleaned and ready for them too.... Soooo- till then....

Still Working On My Living Room And Work Space...

And I'm really really getting threre!! I just ordered these gorgeous trunk baskets to go on my very tall black bookshelf that holds a lot of my important supplies and goodies- and will combine them with some really nice woven black rectangular baskets!! I can't wait to get these!! They will look so nice!! Soooo- I'm not sharing any more progress pics of our "space" till I get these in- everything put away and cleaned- and get my new 3 tier rolling cart in- to haul and hold my candle making supplies on- so some more stuff can be rolled around - used- and put away!!! I can't wait!!

Got my new desk put together- got everything in and tucked where it's going to go for now- and well- been puttering along with things- in between working on things I have to do!! :) If only I didn't need sleep!!

In the mean time- in between all these things- I've been taking advantage of the wonderful springy weather- and lots of sunshine we've been lucky enough to get!! Working on horses- cleanup- etc., etc.. So much fun though.. Creating- working on things I enjoy- and enjoying my favorite thing - Sunshine!! Yes- I am a sunshine freak!! Can't live without...

Thought I'd pop in.. Hopefully can show you more home improvement pics soon enough- and some WIP's from some of my orders I've been so trying to get done since xmas.. Good gads- I hope we never had to move again!!

A little rain coming our way for a couple days- so I'll be in again soon!! Have big plans to get LOTS done.... Enjoy the day....

Where Do You Create???

Yes- I know- this is a long- long talked about and shared subject- but I am on a "make it work" frenzy.... We moved right before Christmas- and let me tell ya- it was a 15 day moving madness marathon- totalling 30 days to totally "set up"... Wellllll- I did the best I could do- while still trying to work- and function and find everything- and low and behold- got it together!!! And yet it is an ogoing thing- of course... :)

We downsized... A Lot!! So- now half of my supplies are in our large walk in closet off our main bedroom- not to mention everything spread throughout the house- hidden and stashed in every nook and cranny... And then there are the overwhelming amounts of "I can make kewl things with this stuff" bins that are in the basement ( and stacks of others), and then there is the holy crap amount of inventory from shop- either boxed in supply room- or spread throughout home for sale- and then- there is our living room!!!! Which I now have to share my "work space" with our living room.... The pic above is things before I got to tearing them apart this week...

I need to have all my prized possessions, supplies and goodies- "at hand"... I'm just that way... I need to hide things- so things look nice when folks walk in- and yet be able to see and get to them- I need to be able to work on my candles- sew- play with clay- and get jiggy on the computer doing all that jazz too!! WHEW!!! A tall order....

So- I went and bought a new/different desk- some neat baskets to put on shelves- and hubby and I are going to tip fabric shelf on side- where desk is- and put chicken wire doors on it- and move some other things around- and hopefully- HOPEFULLY- I will finally achive the goal of being able to multi-task in this room!! :) What a challenge- when ya gots as much stuff as I do!! I know you are all out there - saying the same thing sometimes- aren't ya???

Next challenge- finding a way to "artfully hide" the HUGE laser printer and scanner!! Part of the overhaul.... I'll keep ya posted!! Will take more pics as I get through this mess- *smiles*....

Just Playing Around I know- I know- I should be working!!! But after working my silly tailfeathers off all day- I needed a little down time- if you will.. A little creative play... So- I did a little graphic work- and re-did my blog.... Not sure if I will keep it- as the scene here changes about as much as the real seasons- but for now- it gave me about a half hour of tinker time....

Still working on candles and orders.. Next is some pillars- some tapers and some lantern light skinny skinny tapers... Can't wait... But- still working on getting my other orders together so I can sew- sew- and sew some more.. These two orders take extra extra special care and attention to detail- with as little interruptions as possible- so working on them these past few weeks or so has been a little rough.. We've had so much going on!!

Well- thought I'd pop in for a few - going to blow out some more candles and I think I am going to go to bed early!!! Was truly a long day!!

Just About There...

I am so thrilled with this weather... It's amazing... Spring has
just started to peek through at last- and I am in my glory!! I just love this change of weather- even the rain... With rain- it washes the last of the winter away- and gives us fresh and beautiful things to look at!! Just can't wait for the birds and butterflies and animals and buds on the trees!! And with our new home, we have so much to do!! We have paddocks to build for the horses- swings and little places to set to put all over, and a garden to do- and - and- and.... Just so much!! But it's all good!!

I was outside for the last couple days- clearing what I hope to be the last of the snow and ice off of my side patio- and putting one of my benches and a chair in it's place.... Put the grill on the front porch, so now I have to go and get some grilling foods, and we have been starting our cleanup!! I'll not complain a bit though- as the temps were high 40's and we had some sun!!! Keep bringing it on!!!

And on another note- getting a lot done inside too!! Making tons of candles- working on orders still from xmas time- and well- working on that never ending to-do list... Also plotting out this years line up of new and exciting goods!! Well- I get excited anyway *smiles*.... We'll be doing so much this year in my marketplace as well- so be sure to stop by!! I've been busy - our artists are ever so busy- and there's always something that will make you smile!! It does me... :)

Wellllll- it's about way past my bedtime again!! he he... It's already almost 4 a.m... Soo- off to la la land for me..

To Let Them Drip Or Not To Drip? That Is The Question....

I've been working on candles- in between sewing... Thought I'd show a table full- and some new pillars that I am working on... These shown are 2" diameter pillars!! I've always wanted to make them- and just have humongous candle displays all through the home.. Place them on treenware- cutting boards- bread boards etc...

Wellll- I said- Hey- why not? I ordered my molds- and have some 3 " diameter molds on the way- and have been playing!!

The rule of thumb for pillars is to only burn them for 1 hour per inch diameter of the candle- and to blow out while there is still a shell around the melted pool- so that they don't drip!!

Well- these are doing fantastic- IF- you do indeed blow them out just before the two hour mark.... They are mottled, feathered- and just plain prim- in actuality!! ( sorry- photo's not great- got a mess going on- and lots of candles- and oh- yes- the snackage).... However- I thought- * yes- I got sidetracked*... I thought well- I love the look of old time pillars and tapers that drip and just almost melt their ways onto the surfaces they are on.. It looks so prim- so colonial.... So- I let these burn for well- a little over 3 hours now.. And low and behold the dripping began!!

So... Here they are- a pic taken in flash and one in the dark.. Boy- is it ever hard taking pics in the dark of a candle lit table with all sorts of mess going on.... It really does look better in person though...

Anywho!! What do you think??? Should I adjust my recipe and wicking so they will not drip and give STRICT burning instructions??? As I do plan on selling them in sets of 3.... OR.... Should I just leave well enough alone- and let folks know how to properly burn them and
HOW TO GET THAT DRIP???

I actually choose the latter.. Thinking I'm going to have candles displays dripping on vintage and antique items all over this place... It just looks kewl!!

I'll post more pics of some other works in progress later!! I am working on some snowmen- yes- I said Snowmen- and a very very special order of a Santa for a very very dear friend... I can't show any progress pics to anybody yet- as this is a custom- and she's going to see them first!! Once I get em uploaded...

Are You Ready For Spring Yet???

Oh my goodness- I sure am... As we near sub below temps with wind chill factors this week, and I find myself turning the thermostat up just a little and cranking up the wood stove, I can't help but think of warmer days, green grass and sunshine... Don't forget floppy earred bunnies, and warm fuzzy stuff like that too!! Gotta have the cuteness too!! Ohhh- yes I am so ready for all of this goodness!!

In the mean time, I find myself still working on Christmas orders- yes I was that booked when we moved- and also trying to get new things made and ready for this years line up.. Oh- I am always so far behind I am possibly ahead. At least it sounds better that way!! Also working on a lot of website work for my clients- my own sites, making corn huggers for all of us to stay toasty- and getting ready to make another whopping batch of handmade lotion-cream. Not to mention- I really need to finish stocking up my candles!!! Got whiped out on quite a few fragrances this winter and still have orders for more.. WHEW.....

Oh My Goodness- Where does time go??? Well- for us- it's been doing a lot of moving!! Yes we moved... And it took 2 horses and a small crew of willing ( screaming and kicking all the way ) friends of ours to get us here- but we made it... We didn't go far- but hey- moving is moving!! Holy Hanna!! We started a 30 day moving madness marathon on the 11th of December- as soon as we found and put security etc., etc., on new place- and ended on January 11th- so to speak... And in this escapade- we managed to move the household contents- garage- barn- 2 horses, 2 cats a dog- and all of my business entities!! Whew.. Not to mention- we painted all the rooms in the new place- cleaned both places new and old and got all of our accounts set back up!! And I am just finally able to really gear back up and hop on the working thang... Oh my goodness is right!!

Sooo- if any of you missed me ( or didn't- I won't mind tooooo much :) )... I've been a little busy!! And just plumb worn out... And if you've ordered goodies- or want to- just know that I am going full bore again!! And THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH to those that were ever so patient for their orders placed- for me to get here and working again!! I am now hustling hyney to get them done- but alas- am on it!! Like a tick....

Well- after much thought- and nothing especially particular to speak about today- I just said- well- I'll hop on- and tell ya's in a tiny little nutshell what we here have been doing!!! And it feels soooo good to be settled in too!! As a matter of fact- I just finished doing candle inventory- getting them where they need to be- and getting ready to re-stock my goods- and work on those orders!! Never a dull moment I'll tell ya's...

Sooo- for now- I am of course- off and running- but I'll be back- and this time a LOT sooner!! I always have so much to blab ( I mean blog ) about after all...

Holy Cow- Post #50.... Never thought I'd make it...
And low and behold- I have not only a WIP- but part of it is finished... Allow me to introduce "Snowy"... A pattern I graciously adapted from Country Friends, and customized a tad for my project. Snowy is going to accompany my newest old world looking Santa that I am making... Just lovin' it so far.. Beginning To Look A Lot Like....

Hmmmm.... Like Fall is just passing us by.... So- guess it's time to get moving on my Winter & Christmas Goodies!! Oh My!! I really really should have started that awhile ago- but you all know how it goes.... Do some of this- some of that- go here- and there- and before you know it- months pass... Well- that and I've been sooo busy getting ready to launch my new site- which by the way is open for business!! YAY!!! Finally!!

Also found a little time to play tonight- and did a winter blog overhaul.. Had a blast!! Have to have some fun - down time- you know? Doing things that take little effort- things that are fun- and don't wrack your brain doing them!! Fun Stuff!! :)

Sooo, I'm catching up- doing some fun stuff- gearing up for the season and holidays ahead, and trying to keep my sanity:) he he... Yeah- I know- what is that??? I mean- come on- It's already November 2nd... Unbelievable..

A Sneak Peak At My New Marketplace...

Hi everyone!! Haven't popped in for a chat as I've been swamped- getting ready for the grande' opening launch of my new marketplace, www.JustForKeeps.net It's been exciting!! I've had a few new girls join- and I have been adding artists and products like a mad woman!! We're almost there!! Popping In For A Quick Visit...

So much has been keeping me hopping- but thought I'd pop in for a quick visit... I'm cleaning and decorating - working like crazy- playing with family-friends and of course the horses- and just living life!! And boy oh boy has the weather been just as busy as I... We have had cold and rainy days- some with sun- a lot with winds- and well- it seems like ol' father winter is just knocking at fall's door.... BUT... we've got some fall celebrating to do before we let him gust on in here right??? I mean- there's harvest bounty cooking- decorating- halloween- and just having some fun!! Plenty of time for the long winter ahead- right? (smiles)

Also- as mentioned- working like crazy- you know me!! My new marketplace site is coming along beautifully!! Occupying a LOT of my time but is going to be sooo worth it once done!! I'm so excited!! Will let you all in for a quick peek soon- promise!!

Not just your ordinary graphic!! Oh no!! And- I can finally say I made something for the All Hallows season!! :)

Okay... my mother in law- having a party this weekend- needed a costume- and came up with "The Man In The Moon" idea.. Well -sounds simple right??? Awww- not so much :) he he... Well- she put lil ol' me- in charge of coming up with a mask for her.. Sounds simple right???? Awww- not so much!! Oh My Goodness!! I tried everything- as this was supposed to be a simple- no fret project- in the manner of being a "paper flat mask", sorta thing... I wanted to go all out- with paper mache- molding to face- yada yada- but no time- and really - it was supposed to be "simple"...

Welll- can you believe that it's a lot harder than one would think to come up with an "ideal" flat mask??? I mean really!! I used one she had for a template- and I tried everything- but as soon as ya cut out the eye spots- and wrapped this "man in the moon" face image around your head- OMG!!! Not sure if it was a monster or an alien or what!! Finally- I came up with the above image- exact size- and I used a pre-made molded eye only type of masquerade mask- and I taped it to that- soooo- it gives the middle of the moon face dimension- while keeping it round looking- etc., etc., and attached to your head!!

Whew!!

Momma will be here in the am... And I'll have her pick the image color she wants- as this one is more of a yellowish tint- and not sure if she wants it more white-ish.. THEN- I will firmly attach to the premade masq. mask- with glues and she'll be all set!! I HOPE!!

Soooo- I guess not having the internet for the last 24 hours gave me time to "play".. he he.... Although slightly frustrating- it gave me a chance to do something fun- and gave me a final "brilliant" idea on how to perhaps create some fun fun masks in the future!! Ahhh- can I say!! Oh- I'll post a pic tomorrow- if I can get the momma to pose!!

And now it's almost 1:30 in the wee hours of the morning- and after catching up with folks online- FINALLY- I think I'm finally going to turn in for the night... Till next time my friends!!

I know it's been a little while since last in- but so much has been happening here... Let's see.... Looking for a new place to live- I traded one horse for a friends horse- and have one for sale- Our truck broke- both of them- John ( hubby) got laid off- I'm working tail feathers off trying to clean out house- get rid of "stuff" and keep up- and oh yeah- working even harder at website work, new products etc... Sooooo- this is just a few things!! The rest- is well- Life!! :)

We have just been running in circles it seems- and I just want to play!! Sooo- I might wake up the kid- aka Rachael- and saddle up the horses and go for a nice Fall ride... It's actually going to stop raining for a spell today!! Goodness.. It's been a muddy mess- and non stop rain around here.. WOW.... Need More Sunshine!! Yes I do!!

Thought I'd pop in- as I finally got a chance to do some blog visiting yesterday- and said- my goodness- naughty blogger again!! I haven't posted in awhile myself- so I best at least pop in- to say Howdy!! Yikes And Zorks!! :)

Well... guilty I am for not "making" new goodies- but I will tell ya- I'm still having tons of fun with webwork and graphics.. Soooo- I just keep sharing.. Also--- The first day of Fall is Tuesday!! And the countdown to our beautiful fall season is on- followed by our most-est favoritest ( that's two good words right?) of all- Halloween... And lets not forget the bountiful harvest's we've gathered or enjoyed- and look forward to celebrating Thanksgiving and then of course Christmas.. WOW... All this goodness- packed into just a few seasons... Lovin' all of it...

I've got my doodles prepared- my inspiration is top notch- my supplies are ready to put on the table- but alas- I've just been swamped.. Between re-vamping the home- and tons and tons of work- I just can only go sooo thin... But I have to say- I do enjoy every bit of everything I do.... It's all art- and It's all so fun!!

For now- I'm off to bed.. The day has finally caught up- and I'm finally wound down enough to sleep!! The notepad and sketchbook will have to await till the morrow... Ohhhh- and before I forget... Great news coming soon about my marketplace.. It too has been under construction and is also going to called by a whole new name.. A new look- a new name- and some fantastic new features I am praying all will enjoy!! I will keep you posted on our transformation...

Sunflowers are just gorgeous... A timeless flower and food too if you will that lets us know that summer is come to an end- and Fall is here... Their beautiful colors and great big glorious leaves are just a wonderful reminder of what has come and what is yet to be seen... Oh- how nature gives us artists the most wonderful color palettes to work with!!

I pulled up at my mother in laws today- and not only did she have these gorgeous yellow type critters on display- but this Biggest patch of sunflowers- flowers I can't name- and the tallest patches of thick reeded grasses- and it just made me smile.. How awesome.. She's feeding the critters- and themselves too- and just enjoying every minute of the wonders in her front garden.. As I was too when I pulled up.

Sooooo- just sharing a moment today- as I reflect on this ever so busy day- on how something so simple- and yet wondrous can just make your day!!

For now- I am off to la- la land... More to come when I get up!! Need to catch up on some zzzzzz's....

A New Graphic Pretty

I know you've seen this one- well- kind of... But I was working on this graphic some more... And I wanted to do a really kewl background for my desktop on my puter... Sooo- thought I would share!! I just love the way it turned out.. Almost Spooky- but as I was watching the orange moon last night- from my porch- through the misty clouds- I thought to myself how kewl it was- and how it looked like the very same graphic I was working on a little while back. I just finished adding in all the misty clouds- and of course some of my own photo touches!! :) Had a blast.. Anywho- if you want to use it for your screensaver- by all means- just click on the picture. It should open in a new tab or window- full size- 1440 x 900 pixels- and then you can save it and turn it into your own computer background.. Please just use only for a desktop background- and nothing else though- as I plan on using the design for future graphic products of mine.. Mucha appreciated...

Other than this- am going through an "adjustment" period- of daughter being back in school- Fall approaching- so much to do- and for the last week have been working as hard as I can- but yet in a state of limbo.. We're still waiting to hear if we are going to be able to buy this house we're in- and what our future holds- so I am keeping myself as busy and focused as this ol' mind of mine will allow.. Praying for good outcomes- as no matter what- we have soooooo much to do before Winter... And of course- life has it's way of just keepin' ya hoppin- now doesn't it???

On another note.... This should be my 40th post!!!! IT TOOK ME FOREVER!!! Sooooo- for those that pop by- keep on coming- (or I'll definitely feel like I'm talking to myself) - because when I finally hit my 50th post- I will be having some sort of giveaway!! Tick Tock- Tick Tock

Time is sure ticking- around here!! Fall is upon us- Halloween almost here.. Daughter goes back to school tomorrow- and the race is on!! Soooooo much to do- and it just seems like that ol' clock ticks faster than I can run!! :) This year especially- time has just flew right by- no puns intended towards the witch in the clock- or is it? *smiles*..... I am sooo behind- I'm not sure if I am behind or ahead.. Maybe if I think I'm ahead- for next year- I'll be much more at ease!!

So- without further ado- I prepare my daughter for her 1st day back- as she is going into 11th grade.. HOW did that happen? Poooof!! Just like that... Time flies- is not just an expression- it really does fly by so fast- that you have to stop it every once in awhile to reflect.. Whew!!

My reflection today- is of course how time flies- and as this day too flies right by- I too must put it in high gear.. We've got some last minute running- errands- and what not- and are trying to figure out what we're gonna do on her last day of "freedom"... Hmmmmm- lets see where this day goes!!

I Like Little Baby Ducks...

Don't You? And of course- how can you resist a little baby duck - waiting for Halloween? :) I couldn't... he he..

Just playing around with some graphics this morning/afternoon- as I work on some website stuff.. It's Labor Day after all- so I'm not working as hard as I should- kinda just puttering... We've had a lot going on around here lately, and have finally found some hope for purchasing the home we've been fixing and renting for the last 6 years, so now I am waiting to finalize everything- and really working on getting my business in high gear again- as I spent the last year working on a dairy farm- and trying to run the business.. WHEW... Thinking things caught up with me- and needed a "day" to just re-think!! Sooo- alas- the cute little duck came across my path- and I had to have some fun- if not just for a few...

Hoping you all have a wonderful Labor Day- and are getting some of this gorgeous Fall-ish weather like we are having here... It's not to hot- not too chilly- Just right!! Already had some homemade cabbage soup with my leftover halupki thrown in- yum yum- and now am ready to get serious... :) Maybe ( smiles)...

A Gorgeous Day...

Today is just simply gorgeous outside... I went out to feed the horses- and the crows were about- as well as some geese- and of course my little barn swallows- just waiting for some feed to make it to the ground... Greeted with nickers from the horses and warm sunshine on my face, I begin to feel blessed and full of hope....

Aren't the simplest things just the most beautiful... And yet these simple little gifts from nature remind one of soo much!! So- as my family still sits in limbo- over where our future will go- I am comforted in the fact that no matter what- we are a strong family- blessed by many things!!

On another note.. I finally - finally found some energy and focus yesterday, and my daughter and I got the entire basement cleaned out.... Do you want to talk about pack rats? Ohhh- that would be me... Funny though!! I managed to throw out- or rather let go- of a HEAPING truckload of stuff!! It was almost falling out... Heaped so high- he couldn't see behind him... Yikes... Unbelievable what I've saved and collected- and ohhh- "we'll use this or we'll use that.. " Oh My God!! Soooo- out it all went, leaving me with still a basement full- but everything is cleaned- organized- and what treasures I still have.... All in neat labeled boxes and bins- just waiting to breathe new life later on.... Between that and everything I have in this house and the garage, my friends, I have enough "Loot" to keep me crafting for at least 10 years!! Soooo much fun planned ahead.... Ya know? Sometimes you just have to let go though.. :)

Well- lots planned today- including mowing lawns and what not- so I have to get a move on.. And who knows what wil get tackled today!!

Whoooo? Me?????

Just love this guy... Now this is a face I'll be using for a future sculpt... I have him in the ol' sketchbook - ready to go.... But alas, my sculpting adventures are yet on hold.... We've has some landowner issues of late, and are in negotions to keep our home... Sooo- things have been a little rough lately, and are hoping for positive resolutions, and that we will be able to stay... We have built this place up and planted roots, for the past 6 years, on a rental basis- with future option to buy- and in great trust of the owner... And now- things are in limbo, and he's debating whether to sell... Well... After 6 years, and probably around 14,000... Not to mention our backbreaking labor, we want to finally just have it as our own, and not wait any longer. Ahhhh- the things that life brings us....

Soooo, with the cooler seasons now upon us- and of course holidays to prepare for, I find myself saying 'Who? me?".... Ohhh- I'm staying optimistic... I'm preparing for anything that may happen.... And I'm keeping my faith, and my heart high and hopeful... And I'm still sketching away- and preparing for the seasons, but alas, it may be just a bit longer.... Thank God for the inspiration though!! I so very much need that right now- while in limbo...

Soo- for those of you who visit... Come again often- and I promise- one of these weeks- there's going to be so many new things I've created- you'll want to stay and visit.... and hopefully enjooy... No Works In Progress Yet... But, aren't the graphics from long ago nifty too...... That and seeing how I've been swamped with website work- and networking- and all that fun jazz- I'm here anyway- having fun!! I am a WIP!!! :) What can I say? I start to move on some projects- get caught up here- or something else takes me in a different direction- and what can I say? I'm only one :) But having fun!!

Aren't these vintage images a blast??? Besides creating a whole bunch of my own seasonal graphics and such- I'm having so much fun altering and cutting out some oldies- but goodies... They are pure inspiration in themselves... Just love it...

It's been a few days or so since I've posted- and have been rather swamped, and sore!! My sweet darling little black draft pony cross- Blacky- decided to have an ever so evil day a few days ago- and he pulled something on me I never would have expected... He took off on a dead run- bucking all the way- and I lost my grip ( no saddle- no bridle ) as I had my slippery pajama's on- and he dumped my old and decrepid behind and body right in the gravel of the driveway... After several attempts at getting up- I caught him -worked him all day until my body couldn't take any more- and well- the rest of the day wasn't exactly peaches for that little boy!! He KNOWS what he did- and I can tell he even feels bad... He keeps nudging me now- even- trying to get love.... Naughty Naughty Pony!! Just goes to show - we all have our days... Unfortunately- I DO NOT BOUNCE like I used ta... Nope!! I don't think he missed a stone in that driveway... And impact sucked... OWWWWW.... I'll tell ya....

Ah well- so- that's been my week... Slowly- I am healing... Enough to work the horses- as they so need to be worked- point taken- thank you Blacky..... And enough to get around and putter through some other things... Whew!! What a week....

Sooo- hoping this week is SOOOOO much more productive- and a little less rough!! :)

Should Be Working On....
Well.... On all of my new creations- BUT..... I just love love doing graphics.... Sooo- as this is "be-fitting" of creating- and all seasons Hallow ( upcoming of course ).... I am going to plead the 11th- which is- "I am working on my creations- HONEST".... Okay- so I made that up too... :) *giggles*

I have to tell you though- doing a search for real live ravens- moons- trees- and all that has got my creative juices flowing more than you can imagine... Whew!! On overload I do believe... A good overload though... :)

Ohhh- my daughter Rachael and I went shopping today- and it is amazing on what a few little extra goodies can do too get you going too!! We got the mostest kewlest sketch books made from 100% recycled paper- that is a kraft color and texture.. Ohhhhh- now to make them into wonderful art journals!! We're both chicken to start that first page- so we're Game Planning on what to do to the covers first!! Hmmmmm....That wonderful blank canvas... :)

Just look at all these fun faces!!

As I am scorching in this rather unusual heat- sweltering 90's.... I can only think of fall- and the wonderful fun it brings!! I've got my clay out- and ready- sketchbooks overflowing- and of course all the inspiration a girl could hope for online too of course!! And low and behold I find these delightful wonderful faces... Hmmmmm... What inspiration indeed

I told you all I was in the Hallowen Spirit.... That and Fall..... Especially today- when it's 90 and muggy soggy!! :) Oh- and figured I'd start doing seasonal layouts on the blog- for some nifty eye candy!! Well- I'm having fun with it anyway!! :) Hope you do too.....

I'm getting 4 new tall bar stools tomorrow- so I can finally put them up to my "new" old table I put together to work at.. My workroom is finally really coming together. I got two old vintage half barral whiskey kegs- cut in half that is- and bottom to bottom placed together- and put an old table top on top... Well...... Then the table was too tall to work at- so naturally- I had to go haunting for the perfect chairs.. I'm gong to go get those tomorrow- and then my daughter and I are breaking out all the clays and paints... I can't wait...

Working on my sewing projects ( Patty ) on one counter... :) he he.... And all that fun clay and mache stuff on the other- and I'm thrilled....So kewl...

Well- I'm off and running as there is sooo much to do today!! Hope you are all enjoying the day!!

In The Halloween Spirit...

I just can't help it... Everywhere you look- artists and enthusiasts alike are brimming with delight over the spirit of Halloween and Fall, soon fast approaching I might add... And who can resist...

Sooo- my question to me is?? Do I break out my clay and play? Or fabrics? Or both!! I see a huge workroom "Mess" coming this way soon.... For now- I am simply gathering my inspirations, and enjoying what is soon to come...

And then- then there is Christmas... Now- I am at an "Impasse' " with myself.... I struggle to decide what to play with there too!! My goodness... This ol' studio of mine is going to get really really busy soon. It's ultimately my destiny to just get it all out and going... I have to!! I can't resist....

"Thinking Ahead-I know- but before you know it- there will be snow" "Diddly Doo"

He is a one of a kind creation- and as you can tell he's kind of cold!! He's touting a rusty bell garland with B R R written on circle tags, held by his wirey twiggy and bendable arms. And atop his head he has a paper grubbied cone hat with a ball at the top, and grubbied batting around the rim.. He has an adorable peppercorn face with a clay grubbied nose- and a gingham scarf about his neck... And low and behold he has a miniature friend on his shoulder- a little clay sculpted cardinal.... Keeping him company in the snowy weather!! On his chest adorns a mini 3d rusty star with some burgundy and gold pips!! Diddly Doo is attached to a super grungied based- and has "snow" about his bottom!! He is firmly attached with glues!!

I hope that you find him a delight and find a warm spot in your heart and home for Diddly Do- because he's cold and needs you as you can see!!

Why Not???

I think- yes- I do think:) He he.. That I will start posting pics
somewhere on here, of works I've done in the past- and stuff I have for
grabs now... Hmmm... Guess I've been out in blog land for so long-
browsing and visiting, and getting ALL THESE IDEAS IN MY HEAD!!! Sometimes
a good thing- sometimes it gets me into trouble... But alas, what I find
so fun about other artists blogs- is all of the wonderful- fabulous eye candy!!
I love seeing that fantastic creativity, and can only hope to show some here as
well... I just love to dabble in so many things- as some of you may know-
so I'm going to show a tid bit of this- and a tad bit of that!! Maybe
brighten things up a bit on here huh? :) Sooo- let me figure out
where all this fun stuff will be, as I'll be doing a continuous show and tell.

Starting out with a pic of one of my all time favorite Halloween creations I
made this past season... Going to HAVE to make some more of these- not
exactly- but "like" these- ya know???? I just love em- so much fun!!!
And I just love, love, love Halloween and Fall- oh- and Christmas And Winter...
Hmmm- not much in the art world I don't love- or the seasons for that matter-
well- except bitter cold- and sweltering hot.. There really is a happy medium... :)
Anywho- we'll start here- and maybe I'll have to um- just put a new column in-
somewhere:) For more goodies and such!!! Sooo- here we go.....

On another note- I see many other artists showcasing other artists- and Oh My!!
I just love this.. No- I am not out there Idea Stealing, or copying blog creativity-

Missing In Action?

Not really..... Just been super super busy- of course!! As
Always... Well- you know the story... It's summer- there is horses
and cows, lawn mowing and weed eating, gardening, cookouts, campfires, cleaning,
and of course tons of website work to keep me more than busy through each moment of the day!! Sooo- each time I pop in to my blog- I end up browsing everyone else's blogs, and then
I don't end up saying anything on mine:) he he...

Oh- also been working on my workroom- Yes- again!! For those that know me- I am
everchanging everything in my rooms- my house- everywhere!! It's a
sickness I do believe, but something I must do!! Seeing how I don't have my gift shop
open in my home anymore- I've been slowly transforming our home- and the rooms,
and workroom, and the old shop room- into more "presentable" homey comfy cozy rooms!!
It's a long long process- as I had tons and tons of stuff to hide!! Holy
Hanna!!

Here's a pic of how I am doing so far... Oh- and in this "makeover" -
he he he..... I decided to "remove" another wall in our home.. Don't
worry- not a low bearing wall, just one that was in my way to "opening" up my workspace to the rest of the house:) Still Have a lot to do, and a lot of "finishing touches" to make
it more homey- and yet creative and inspirational, but.... On a roll.. Oh- and
still waiting for my sliding glass door- to go where that window is on the one bare wall:)

Hubby and I built the "fabric shelf" :) yay!!! And I distressed and
antiqued it.. Love it!! And we found the old old other wood
cabinet in the right hand corner of the picture!! Oh- love that too...

I built this bookcase- and covered my closet- with tan colored curtains...
Lots of junk behind those curtains!! The good junk though!!

Well- I am still alive, and kicking!! And sometimes hollaring and
screaming- No- just kidding!! Nothing to hollar about here!! All is
good...

I have been doing some blog hopping though- and have been having a blast-
however- there are two things about this!! The good thing- is that it
inspires me... Sparks that ol' creativity and makes me want to do it all!!
The bad thing- is that - well- I get lost browsing forever- and I don't get
anything done!! Oooops!! How ironic huh???

Well- thought I'd pop in to say Hi to anyone who stops and visits!! I have
one more website to "wrap up" this week- and then I am all gung ho on
working on my whole new line of seasonal products!!! My sketchbook- and brain
for that matter are so overflowing- that I just HAVE to get some new
goodies done!! Kicking self in hyney to get busy!! So- speaking of
which!! I'll catch you all soooooooon...

Making Progress!! And Doing The Happy Dance....

Well time to post what I do in my spare time ( ha ha )
pictures!! :) Below is a pic of our barn- in progress- but oh my-
it's ready for the horses and I've got all 3 moved in already!! Ohhh- yes- we still have to cut ends off - fold tin down- run the walls up to the top etc., etc., but by
golly- it's good enough so all 3 critters are in their new stalls and lovin'
it!! I am soooo happy!! We finished up enough to get our new horse in on Sunday!! Doors were up- and stalls ready for their new occupants!!

This is Charlie!! Oh- isn't he just gorgeous!! I just got him on
Monday!! He's such a charmer!! He really really needs his feet done bad- so no riding till after this coming Tuesday- so I just can't wait!! For now- he is lovin' life here at our crazy little farm!! :) Charlie is an appendix... Which is
a Quarter Horse/Thoroughbred cross- and he's only about 7 years old this year...

And More of Charlie!! Boy does he need a bath... :)

And here is Sable!! My Morgan/Standardbred cross mare!!! She's a handful- but love her just the same!! Makes life spectacularly interesting.... We had an awesome ride today too!! Went all over the state lands up here.. Just gorgeous!!
Sable is almost 14 years old... We got her about 3 months ago- and wellllll- she came to us needing lots of groceries and a bit of an attitude adjustment.. She tore my garage apart- kicked apart 3 doors- and all sorts of wonderful things!! Took about 2 months to get her to calm down and get back into the swing of critter lives with humans life!! Shes' really working out great though- and can't help
but love her!! She most definitely needs lots and lots of love- which she
gets here!! Lots of potential this one!!!

And here is Sable and Me- in her stall.... Cleaning and chore time...

Here's a pic of one of our stalls- Blacky's Stall!! The barn is sooo rustic- which I love so much- and the stalls are actually huge!! The horses just love it.....

And Of course- here's our ol' faithful- Blacky!! He's our tank- faithful and true Draft Pony Cross horse... He's about 14- and we've had him for about 2 plus years.. He has sooooo much character- and just makes ya laugh and smile...
He's a blast to ride!!

And here is Rachael with Blacky!! She rides him- and him only!! They are buds!! Isn't my daughter just gorgeous!! So proud of her- and my critters!!

And it all wouldn't happen without my family- and my ever loving hubby who has slaved and slaved to build me things for my critters- and for my enjoyments!! Love him from the tippy top of me heart!!

Well- that's all the pics for now!! I know that I went
on and on- but this is what has kept me otherwise pre-occupied the most
these last few weeks.... Oh- that and tons and tons of website work!!
Got one more done- for a client- and then 3 more to finish.. Oh- need so much to get more of my own goodies listed too- but in due time!!

Busy- Busy- Busy!!

Oh yes- of course- I've been busy busy and oh so busy!! Tis the story of my wonderful life:) Not a dull moment- and I'm a lovin' it... This week- especially- has been full of outdoor fun stuff- lots of website work- and some playin' around- as we have ta do that too ya knows....

Decided to play with some pics- and above is a picture of me with my two sisters... Tammy the oldest on the left- me- in the middle- and Caryn the second to arrive in this world- on the right!! Love my sisters!! Aren't they beautiful? I do so think so myself!!

And of course- I have been a busy girl- as part of our crew- working on our new horse barn!! Well- it's nothing spectalar mind you- as we are doing all rustic and functional- but boy oh boy will I be doing the happy dance this weekend- when it's finally done!! Here's a picture of our "progress"

This of course was taken at the beginning of the "Putting On the roof" day!! By day's end- we got the whole roof on... Now this weekend- we finish the walls- the stall partitions- and of course the gates!! Shopping I go tomorrow- to get some buckets and chains and snaps and goodies!! By Sunday End, I do so hope our barn is done enough so that we can get our new horse up here!!! Sooo- you'll be waiting till then for more pics- and of course pics of the critters!!

I'm excited.. Lots of great things going on- and the weather is gorgeous- and gardens are going in- and everything is GREEN!! Love it...

A Little Pretty I Did Today!!

This is something I just had to do today!! Brighten up my desktop wallpaper on the ol' PC... I had to do something - Ummmm- More Springy? Summer-ish? Anywho- thought it was just delightful- none the same... I'm posting it here- and if ya want it for your desktop wallpaper too- go ahead and click on it.. The size is 1400 x 900, so it should fit on most laptops or regular monitors.. You can resize as needed -and the only thing I ask- is that you only use it for your personal use - as wallpaper only!! I've got plans for this graphic- so it can't be spread around... Other than that- I hopes ya enjoys!!

Today was absolutely gorgeous- so in between working on one of my clients websites- I did get to go out and do a little cleanup- while I was doing Horsey Chores... I just sucked that warm weather right on in!! Ahhhhhhhhhh...... Now- the rain is coming in too- but that's okay!! It will just make this grass greener and my perennials pop up and grow!! Not to mention- the horses would appreciate some good ol' green grass to chomp on!!

Other than my little romp outdoors, horsin' around, and webwork- it's been a rather quiet and peaceful day!! I sure hope yours has been too....

Now back to my website work!! Deadlines ya know? :)

Spring Is Sooo In The Air....

I am so excited that Spring is finally upon us.... I'm not sure what weather everyone is having out there- but this week we are being blessed with high 50's and up to the 60's with warm winds- and I'll tell ya- this is all good for me!! I am sucking in each and every drop of sun I can get.. In between work that is!! :)

As well as the sun- I am getting all sorts of wonderfully creative ideas- and inspirations!! I feel like painting - creating- making tons of new goodies- and doing what I love to do- including my graphic and web work!! It's so fun- so creative- and so pleasing!!

Wanted to check in- and now on my way to bed... Long long days- and lots and lots of work to do!! And I just unfortuneatley have to- have to- squeeze some sunshine- outdoor horsey stuff in the busy work day ya know? :) Will post some new horsey pics soon too!!

I Just Can't Believe It's Almost Easter!!!!

Thankfully we are going to my hubby's momma's house- cuz she's always got the best goodies on the planet and the bestest family- and fun!! The bad part is- is that I always leave feeling like i'm going to blow up!! It's one of those things though- that I love it but hate myself later!! UG!! And to think I bring tons of leftovers home too!! :) te he!!

Well- I am on the jazz- working on websites for my clients- but wanted to pop on in- say howdy- and oh- a Happy Easter to all coming soon..... Hopes' ya all have super plans for family, food, and fun!!

A new day- and tons of new ideas!! Hmmmm......

I made this little throw together Betsy Ross design- and well- I made them on Greeting Cards.. Well- today- I looked at it- altered it- made a banner of sorts- and I just love it.. It's inspiring!! And I really feel like sewing- so perhaps this just might be the inspiration I need to get some sewing done after doing some webwork tonight...

Can you truely imagine- living back in the day- being a part of something such as these ladies were.. Sewing a flag for our country? Ladies getting together for the day- to help each other- enjoy each other's company? How wonderful to think of it!!

Well- thought I'd pop in to show my "daily inspiration" with you- and now- as I've been thus inspired to create- I'm off like the wind we have that is knocking on the door!! Brrr..... Think most of my creativity is going to happen inside today!! :)

Feeling Blue...

Okay- well- not really as bad as this image I did up might suggest... But find myself catching the tail end of winter- spring tyme blah's!! It comes in spurts- so no worries- I go through it each year- and just have to up my outside time- and my vitamins- but alas... I find myself in a daze!!

Soooo- when this happens- I let it happen- and then I go internet searching!! Blogland hopping- Website Hopping- Image Hopping!! Just doing some things to keep that inspiration flowing- and the sunshine coming into my days!!

If you too feel this way- or at least a little stumped- take a look through some of the blogs and sites I've got listed on here.. Fun = Fun=Inspirational Stuff!! It truley has been my week saver this week- for sure!!

On another note- I did have fun manipulating this image tonight!! I wanted to post- and just plumb couldn't figure out what to blog about.. Sooo- feeling blue- and finding this almost humerous take on my mood- ish- I just got creating... It was fun!! The first one looked different though- and then photoshop shut down!! Afraid I'm going to have to re-boot the ol' machine here tonight- as I have had sooooo many things open for so long- it's tooo busy to work the way it should.. :( Hate shutting down!! I always have so many fun things open!!

Anywho... Thought I'd take a break from work- and do a little playing!! All work and no play- makes for a blue day!! Or at least today that is!! We'll work on making tomorrow much brighter!! :)

Wow- can you believe it?? A couple posts in a week!! Hmmmm... Must be all of the inspirations from visiting my favorite sites and blogs this week!! And... I've got spring fever!! Oh- yes I do!! So much so- that wellll.... I've been outside as much as possible- on every nice day- working my tail feathers off- and then back in here working some more!! I just have to say though- it is sooo nice to get warm sunny days- and even rain for that matter!! My plans for gardens and all day horse riding adventures are filling my head!! In between my work schedule- of course:) he he....

Above is a logo I created for one of my auction templates... And while browsing for ideas- I had so many.. What to post tonight... What to add to a website I'm working on.. Oh- forget my trying to write all my thoughts- you'd get lost too... Anyway- I found this tonight- and just wanted to share.. It makes me smile- and thought it might make you smile too!! Just plumb purty!! The colors are soothing- and subtle- and just the idea of Spring made me smile in itself....

Well- checking in before I head to la la land... Today is to be a very very busy day!! Working on about 5 websites for clients- a custom order- and we are still in the midst of a complete bathroom overhaul- and have a friend coming tomorrow to help again!! Bless his big ol' heart too!! If it weren't for him and my father in law- my poor hubby would still be trying to just get the shower done!! When I mean overhaul- I mean the whole thing- plumbing too!! And we only have the one bathroom!! UG!! Sooo- wish us luck:)

Hi- My Name is Niki- And I'm a Guilty- Non- Blogging Monkey:)

Ohhh, the time passes sooo fast- and one day blinks and smacks right into the next.. Doesn't it? We get caught up with family- work- The home- work- and oh- more work:) Thankfully- I am one of the few, the proud, the select that loves loves my work... But... Then I forget things!! Like oh- yeah- my blog!! Well.... I got online today- as the last few days I've been feeling like I've got the flu ( horrible and sad- kinda like my guilty sad monkey up there), and I got browsing around for something to at least lift my spirits, in between working, and I GOT LOST IN BLOGLAND!! I did!! I 'm guilty!!

You can lose yourself for days in blog land- but.. For me it's been well a good part of the day- on and off... There is sooo much inspiration- spirit- friendships- creativity- Oh- you name it!! Soooo- I've been adding some most wonderful and creative blogs to my list off to the left!! If you need a creative boost- a smile and a laugh- or even something just plain wonderful in your day- go and take a look at some of the wonderful blogs I've just added!! Or- look at them all!! They are all just fantastic!!

So- here I am... The guilty non blogger!! Catching up.. Ish :) I will be back!! Soon- I promise!! Just swamped with orders and website work- and everything else my busy bee life throws my way..... However- I'm taking the advice from another creative- crafty blogger- and I'm going gusto- full bore- getting busy- getting more active here and letting those creative juices scream!! Okay- some of that is my voice- interpretting her advice.. But you get me - right??? :)

Hard To Focus This Week...

This has been a hard week to focus on work... It's just been hectic, and I have been consumed by work, home, this that- and I then had to "retire" one of my older horses this week- and it was sooo hard to let him go. He went to a lady about 2 hours away, who is going to medically take care of him for the rest of his days, but we here are going to miss him terrible... He left today, and it just broke my heart!! Up above- is a picture of me riding our new horse that we went and looked at and she's going to be joining our family on Wednesday!! She's young- healthy- and ready to ride, so looking forward to getting her. Hoping and a hoping that she is going to love her new home with us- and our other horse Blacky!!

On another note- I've been making a lot of progress on the website updates for my markeplace, and am excited.. I've got a few more "tweaks" to work out- and a lot of work to do adding LOTS of new products- but then we will be ready to kick off this new year with a bang.. Coming soon we, the artists at Past-Times-And-Treasures- will be having bi-monthly enter to win giveaways- and will be sending out newsletters to all who visit- so they can keep updated on all of our newest products- and latest works of art!! Will be posting messages on the markeplace soon!!!

I've also been working my clay again- but alas- I spent HOURS last night mixing and mixing pounds and pounds of my favorite clays- and low and behold- got blisters on me fingers!! OUCH!! Soooo, leaving the clay alone today- and will be working on website work for the rest of the night... Have lots to do- and customers sites to work on too:) Got to mix things up a bit- and stay on my toes ya know??? Oh- my- and I still have a Santa And Snowman order to do for my friend that she ordered... I'm putting that to the top of the list as well!! Thank God for her friendship and patience with this ever so busy little worker bee!! :)

Finally Done!!

I can't believe this is finally done.. My Santa & Reindeer project.. And it's now safely at my friends house- on display:) YAY!!! Whew this one took awhile to do!! But was soooo much fun!! I ended up borrowing from a pattern- for the bear- from Sweet Meadows Farm, however, I ended up completely needle felting the whole bear- instead of using an already felted material.. I wanted to felt something so bad- and this was soooo fun to do!! And the colors just ended up fabulous..

An old quilt was used for the toy sack- and added into that was an antique stick horse, some sweet annie- and a little raggy doll that I made from a pattern from Nancy Evers... Of course adding my own special touches...

Now for Santa & The Reindeer!! I made the reindeer pattern from cardstock- based on this vintage reindeer ornament:

Isn't it awesome? My friend found this for me- and I just used it for my base idea- then drew it out full size... And started making my patterns!! Santa on the other hand.. Well- I drew out a basic Santa/Doll body- and the rest fell into place from there.. I actually ended up with about 4 extra arms and legs- 1 extra coat and a pair of pants- and well- had to make all sorts of other adjustments... In the end- it was awesome.. I had no idea what he was going to look like until done!!

Now isn't this the cutest face ever??? Oh and yes- my inspiration for his face came from an old mans' face I found online... The eyes- that is!! Blue Eyes!!

And the wool used for his head and face is from Gloria- at Mohair And Wool!! Look her up- She's the best- and has the greatest mohair and wool on the planet.. Just love it!!

My hubby says that Santa looks like the leader of the Grateful Dead- without his hat- and missing a pair of glasses!! What a smarty pants!! Well- I just love him all the same- and know that my friend who ordered him does too!!

Oh this piece is huge.. Santa measures almost 30 inches and the whole piece is slightly under 3 foot tall and almost as wide... Fun Fun!!

Well- just wanted to share!! Now on to more fun stuff!! And yes- still doing Santa's and Winter folks!!! Oh- and candles too!!

Can you believe I am still working on Christmas Orders... Well- I am!! Actually- two!! One of my very good friends and customer, contacted me before Christmas, as she had just bought one of my primitive Santa & Friends Gatherings, and she really really wanted a Santa with a sack of toys- riding a reindeer!! Well- I'm always up to the challenge- and fun!! Sooo- She told me she had a picture of a vintage reindeer ornament- of a reindeer, elegantly "dashing" as it appeared- so we based our new creation around this!! And voila- up above here- is my rendition of he Reindeer Ornament.. Now- I am working on Santa and his sack of toys!! I had an old pattern I designed for my previous prim Santa- so thought this would work- to set him on the reindeer.. Key word- I thought!!! Boy- has this Santa given me a run for my money:) I had to desing a brand new pattern- and adapt his posture- many times- in order to get him to "sit" balanced, on the table, and on the reindeers back!! Whew!! Finally got it!! He is just going to be just a most wonderful prim fellow when I finally get him done.. And when I started this project- I said- what a great idea- I'll make one for myself too!! Ummm- no- not right now--- Change of plans!! I am thinking that this will be the last of the reindeer rides for a little while anyway!! Its just a whole lot of work- fun stuff- but nonetheless- need more time to do one of these huge projects...

So- I've been working on this for awhile- and she has another order lined up for me.. Another fun one!! See- she gives me ideas- and I get out the ol' sketchbook- and create the designs and patterns, and we go from there!! She is just full of fantastic- and wonderful prim ideas and things that will make a creation stand out from the crowd.. I just love working with others on creations- that brainstorming thing!! Sooooo Much Fun!!

I'll post more pics when I get Santa done- and of course the fun toys I'm making and adding in!! I can't wait!! Of course- I'm working on this in between 10 million other things- but if you do know me- or as you will see- I tend to do that!! Im queen of the multi tasking!! ha... No- really- I love to do so many things- it's hard not to "bounce"...

Happy New Year To All!!

I know- I know- a little late posting that one- but hey- one gets busy don't we? Been reading my favorite gals websites and blogs- and it seems like I'm not the only one catching my breath- re-grouping- and trying to get ahold of this new year upon us- with a steady aim and eye!! Oh- and did I say catching my breath!! While I'm still working at it 24/7, I found myself in a blah slump this last week.. Like I was setting there- watcing time go by... And yet- I was moving right along- and working and working... Wierd... Anywho- I decided not to fight it- just to give in to whatever whim came upon me- and low and behold- a project I've been putting off for a very long time- I got my sewing pincushioin box done!! YAY!! And I might say- I think it turned out awesome.. I even designed the paper wrap graphic with old vintage sewing supplies and goodies- to decoupage around the sides.. Soo pleased!! Now- no more sticking myself with needles in that raggedy old little pittiful pincushion I had- and... All my extra goodies are stashed in the box!!

Now..... I'm making one for mom- as she's a master seamstress, loves to sew- and embroider and I thought she'd have a blast with this... And I'm making two for my ebay prim gal- friends- whom i was supposed to send xmas exchange gifts to- ummm- before Xmas!! So- guess they'll have to be extra special for them- and I'll throw in a few goodies too!!
And seeing how I like the idea soo much- I am going to be making some for sale as well!! I mean- this is awesome!!! I have all my goods all in one spot- and a needle and pincushion as the box lid- And it looks good sitting out!!

Popping in for a quick hello to all- and to wish you all A Very Merry Christmas!! I hope all that reads has gotten the chance to enjoy time with family and loved ones- and to perhaps relax and enjoy the spirit of the holidays!!

We enjoyed our time at home today- but I must admit- there's no holding me still!! I cleaned the house- helped cook- made candles- played with the horses, and God only knows what else.. I've been on a roll!! That's not to say that I didn't set and enjoy so much watching my daughter and her boyfriend open gifts and laugh- by the Christmas tree!! Wow- how time flies- but the excitement and fun is and always will be there!! I just loved it!!

Well- must finish a few things then get some much needed sleep- so till then...

Thought I'd pop in for a minute- as the holidays fast approach... So much to do- so little time.... The weather outside is crappy- but inside it's warm and cozy- and all sorts of fun things to do for this holiday season, so let it do what it's going to do out there... I love it in here!!

I haven't had a lot of time to create tons of new goodies- as I've been doing sooo much website work- and custom orders and Oh My- yes- Candles!! So- thought I'd post one of my all time favorites that I did manage to make and get done.. I have 5 sets available, and you can buy some here if you'd like.. They are $14.95 each, and that is for ONE Bundle of two grubby candy canes- tied with sweet annie- berries, and a holiday tag!! Oh- they measure 10" tall!! I've got them all over my house- tucked in some nifty places- and even in my tree!!

Well- for now, I'm off and running- as I've got to work on a custom order for a friend!! Oh- I can't wait till it's done- and will try to post some pics!!

I absolulety cannot believe I haven't been on here since Easter... I am soooo bad!! Well- perhaps not bad bad- but oh so very busy all year!! Have been creating, and working with the horses, riding, doing websites, lots of website work, templates, you name it.. Now have hit the busiest season of all- yes- Christmas!! Soooo, doing candles, and custom orders, and trying to stay caught up around here.. Whew!!

Now- I do believe- it's time to not only get back into my blog play time- but to move forward with fun endeavors I've had planned for some time!! I'll keep you all posted- I promise!!

I just updated my look here a little- as I also have to do on my regular website and have to finish my "web and graphic" services website too!! So- this winter is going to be busy busy!! Good Fun Stuff though!! YAY!!

I've been playing on blog land a lot- and visiting some of my favorite artists!! What wonderful and creative folks there are out there!! Just makes me smile!!

Well- promise I will be back- and post some pics of some wonderful things I've been working on!! Enjoying it all sooo much!!

A belated Hoppy Easter To All!! And a wish to you all for a wonderful Spring ahead.. Today reminded me of how wonderful the change of seasons are, how with each new day we are given wonderful opportunities, and that as the seasons change- and come alive, so do we each day. With Spring growing and coming to life- I breathed in the wonderful aroma's in the air, and let the sun just warm my body and soul- and I began to think of all the wonderful possibilites ahead...

So, what are your future plans? What lies ahead for you? I'm going to take some time to spread myself out in as many directions as I can- to grow!! Spend more time with family and friends, take more time to pay attention to all those little details- not just for my creations, but for my family too!!

I've got lots of plans, and while I may not get to all of them- all at once, I've got them listed!! They are my goals, my future, and my inspirations... I've got a wonderful family- a beautiful little girl, who is now 15, growing up way too fast I might add, a wonderful husband, and a faithful and loving dog, and a charcter of a horse, and a wonderful extended family, all of whom I wouldn't be able to do all of the things I love without...!!!

Do you find your inspiration comes from all that surrounds you? Well- if you find yourself lost- or stuck along the way- take a really good look at everything- and everyone around you- and follow your heart- follow your dreams, and most importantly- do what makes your heart happy!! Spend some time with your Children, as they are always an inspiration, take some time for friends, and you know what? Put down that list of things you "have" to do sometimes- and just do what you "want" to do!!

Spring Thyme is finally around the corner!! I just know it!! And i've been working on some wonderful spring and summer thyme goodies to boot!! Shown here is my newest- my "Honey Thyme Bear" Fresh from the honey patch!!

I had so much fun making this little make do!! She's entirely made of clay- even the honey pot and little bees, one on her hat- and one on the sign. She's stitting on a delightful handpainted distressed and pieced together muslin sunflower, and is surrounded by some of my favorites- sweet annie and moss.. Of course a sign is there- just in case you don't know what thyme it is!!

Soooo, other than this little creation, I've been working on some others- doing A LOT of website work, and coming up with all sorts of new and fun stuff to make!! Oh- and on the colder side- shoveling snow- and doing horsey chores!! And believe it or not- been working on some spring cleaning and re-decorating!! Now that's fun too- the decorating part- that is!!

Oh yeah!! And my daughter, Rachael just turned 15 this week!! WOW!! Now I really ask myself where did thyme flie???? I can't believe how much she's grown- right before my eyes!! It's unbelievable- and sadly- makes me feel old:) He he!! Well worth the extra wrinkles and grey hair though!!

Well where has time gone???? I just finished typing this wonderfully colorful entry for today- went to post it and it was gone!! :( Okay- so I'm going to try and be just as creative as last time:)

I told myself I 'd blog more- and look how long it's been!! I'm really naughty!! So- where have I been??? Busy- Busy- and ever so busy!! Working on new products, new features for my websites, and so much more..

Well- if any of you out there are counting the days until Spring like I am- there are 31 days left!! YAY!! So glad!! I need sunshine- and well- i'll take some rain with that order too please- so I can get green grass- soft gound- and a warm breeze!!

Good Monday Evening!! Well- I finally got all of our tax paperwork done!! Got my shop- aka keeping room totally cleaned, dusted and everything, went for a horseback ride today- and so much more!! Been Busy!! Now I have to get some new products done- and get everything listed on ebay and my websites from my shop!! I have SOOO MUCH STUFF!! It's going to take me forever to get pics- do descriptions, sizes and prices on everything!! Yikes and Zorks!! Better pace myself on this one!!

As you see- I just love this little graphic!! It's one of my own custom graphics that I created for an ebay auction template I created to sell. Well- enough about business!! Like I said- got to take our horse for a ride today!! Daughter and I took turns while we did chores!! Had a blast!! I had best get back in gear- have a ton left to do tonight- and tomorrow is going to be just as busy!! Also on a "mid winter" type spring cleaning frenzy!! Painting- polishing- and doing all new decor- one room at a time!! It's endless:) Sooo much to do!!

Well Good Sunday Evening Folks!! I really really should be doing my tax paperwork, and working on some new products I've planned out- and yet here I find myself scouring the marketplace filling my head with inspiration and more ideas!! Like I don't have enough planned out as it is:) It is so much fun though!!

It's cold and dreary- and that makes you just want to snuggle in and stay warm anyway!! So- I think I'll just keep browsing- and smiling at all of the wonderful art there is to see out there!! It's Sunday after all!! So I should rest and do fun stuff right? Right!!

Okay- now back to reality!! Guess I'll have to mix it up some!! Have some new auction templates I want to put together, and some wonderful new easter and spring products to put together. My PTAT group on ebay is having our Spring Fling launch here on the 31st, so I really need to get some new goodies done for that as well!! And I really do need to wrap up my taxes and paperwork for 2007. So mix it up I will!!

Hard to believe it's almost Valentines Day- and I working on Easter stuff.. Well, as you can see, it's been quite awhile since i've been in to post. Seems like time just completely and totally slips away from me!!! Never enough time. Been super busy- working on new goodies, on my shop and websites, and prepping up for the new year ahead. Hi there Everyone!! WOW!! I can't believe that I have been sooo busy and just haven't had a minute to get on here and update!! I've been overhauling the shop, all the websites, and gearing up for the holidays!! There is just so much to do!!

If ya get a minute, stop by the site- as I have been posting tons of new products and clearance sales and reduced price items!! It's inventory clearance time!! And Don't forget- stop back often!!!! I am always up to something on there.

Well, I just can't believe fall is around the corner... It's 8:30 p.m. and it's dark already... YUK!! Don't get me wrong- I love fall, but I just don't like the shorter and shorter days.. Love long summer days.

So much has been going on that I haven't had much time to really get this blog going- but... I am going to work on this!! Tons to do and tons to say.

For starters, I just finished my new marketplace and things are looking good. You can visit me at what used to be United Artists Market, and is now Past Times And Treasures.. I'll Add a link over to the left so you can come and visit.. There are going to be tons and tons of products and wonderful gifts for sale as soon as I finish filling in the pages with my stuff, my family's and all of my artists friends. I've recently decided to take items on "virtual consignment" and turn the marketplace into a wonderful artistic virtual mall!! It's going to be fabulous once it's filled in with all the wonderful goodies!! I just can't wait!! Best get moving I guess..
